Hey, I'm Lucas

A few years ago, I relocated here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new phase of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Portugal wasn't part of the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it began as a work opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The early months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Daily tasks seemed tougher than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt secure.
Why I Built SimpleDawnParcel
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or shallow travel content. What was lacking was a genuine, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance derived from real life in Portugal.
